The Shared Goal.

Noodle Seed has signed a strategic partnership with heymate.ca to bring conversational ordering to their network of 200+ independent restaurants in Vancouver, Toronto, and San Francisco.

The two founders, Fahd and Charles, crossed paths four weeks ago at StartupGrind in Redwood City, CA. The first brainstorm was a quick one, and the collaboration started taking shape right away. The shared goal: taking friction out of how diners place orders.

Heymate.ca is an ordering and loyalty platform built for independent restaurants. Diners order at the same prices the restaurant charges in-store, with no inflated markups and instant savings on every order. Restaurants keep more of each order than they would on a traditional aggregator, and the loyalty model is designed to bring diners back.

The Conversation Opportunity.

AI chat conversations are starting to seep into every aspect of a consumer's life. Consider this scenario: one of a hungry bunch of flatmates asks ChatGPT about quick dinner ideas and local delivery options. A back-and-forth about cuisines, budgets, and who's joining. Restaurants are currently absent from that conversation, even when the diner is a few clicks away from deciding.

This partnership puts them in the customer's journey at a much earlier stage in the discovery process. Diners can discover, decide, and order within that initial conversation with ChatGPT. For restaurants, that's a new channel that didn't exist before. It's net new reach, not a redistribution of existing demand.

How It Works.

The partnership dynamics are straightforward. heymate brings the restaurant network, the diner relationships, the discovery layer, and the loyalty engine. Noodle Seed brings the AI surfaces: the ChatGPT app, Halo, and the underlying AI agents that make it happen behind the scenes.

MCP apps open up new surfaces for heymate's restaurant network to reach customers where conversations are already happening. As Claude apps, voice agents, and the next wave of surfaces emerge, we'll extend the same model to heymate's network.

Independent restaurants deserve the same AI capabilities the big global chains are building. heymate brings the restaurant network and the loyalty engine. Noodle Seed brings the AI channel enablement. Together, we're closing that gap.

For now, the focus is on:

  • The heymate ChatGPT app in the OpenAI directory
  • Halo deployed across heymate's restaurant properties
  • A prominent link to the ChatGPT app from every heymate-powered property

Tech teams on both sides are gearing up for launch soon. We'll share more on our progress and the early restaurant cohort as things take shape.
